Join us for an evening with the #1 New York Times bestselling author and award-winning humorist Jenny Lawson as she discusses her most recent memoir, Broken (in the best possible way), and her brilliantly funny body of work.
Lawson is a journalist, author, and blogger known for her great candor in sharing her struggle with mental illness. Her previous books Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and Furiously Happy were #1 New York Times bestsellers.
She will be joined in conversation with R. Eric Thomas, bestselling author, award-winning playwright, and screenwriter. His book Here for It: Or, How to Save Your Soul in America was featured as a Read with Jenna pick on NBC’s Today.

Will this program be recorded?
- Yes, with permission from Jenny to post for a limited time (14 days)
Where will the recording be posted?
- On the Illinois Libraries Present YouTube page. The link will be shared with all registrants via Zoom (both those who register and attend and those who register and are unable to attend)
When will the recording be posted?
- 1-2 days after the program (pending actual post-production time); it will remain up 14 days from post date
Will the event be captioned?
- The event will be live captioned.
What if someone needs accommodations?
- Registrants who would like to request an accommodation may do so when they register for the program or by emailing illinoislibrariespresent@gmail.com
- Accommodations may include CART (live) Captioning, American Sign Language Interpretation, etc.
