From June 6 to August 6, 2022, read beyond the beaten path with the Library’s Summer Reading Program!
Read inside at the library or outside in the park, read in a tent or on your bed. Read anywhere and everywhere, just pick up a book and read! In fact, any reading material will do, from picture books to audiobooks, graphics novels and manga to eBooks, magazines to fanfiction, poetry to novels… All reading is welcome here and the more you read, the more rewards you earn!
This year there are two programs, one for ages 0-12 and one for ages 13-17, each with their own events and activities. Both require the logging of minutes read, up to 600 minutes, using the Beanstack tracker. When you’re registered, come pick up a free registration kit from Youth Staff!
Register for either Summer Reading Program on the Beanstack app or online:
https://centralialibrary.beanstack.org/reader365
If you do not already have a Beanstack account, you can create one completely free! The Beanstack app is available on Android and iOS devices.
These challenges require minutes to be logged. You will earn a badge for registering, for every 60 minutes you read, and for the completion of 600 minutes total. Teens will earn badges for completing activities as well and every 2 hours read grants them a chosen reward. At the completion of either reading challenge, come into the library to claim your Monical’s coupon and a book to keep! Teens will also be entered for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card (but you must complete the 600 minutes and “Naturalist” activity badge for entry)!

Can’t figure out what to read? Check out any of our online collections found at the top of this page, like cloudLibrary. Teens can try out the new TeenBookCloud from TumbleBooks.
You can also download the Library’s catalog app on Android or iOS to find something you might be interested in. (We recommend downloading our catalog app anyway because then you will never have to worry about ever forgetting your library card and you can place holds from anywhere!) Please see library staff if you need any help with these apps.
