The Centralia Regional Library District Board of Trustees announced former assistant director Tammy Wendling as the library’s new director, succeeding Diana Donahoo, effective as of July 1.
“On behalf of the Centralia Regional Library District Board of Trustees, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Tammy Wendling as our new library director,” stated Julie Boltz, president of the Centralia Regional Library District Board of Trustees. “Tammy has a long history with our library which will be very helpful in making a smooth transition in leadership. We also believe she will bring new energy and ideas to the position and continue to provide excellent service to our patrons.”
Wendling has been with the library for over 30 years and has a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Greenville University.
“One of my passions is helping people,” Wendling said. “I have been blessed to ‘grow up’ in the library. I started in my junior year of high school as a page and worked my way up through the different departments. I am excited to serve in this new role as director. I truly believe that the library is the heart of a community. Libraries are so much more than people coming into the library building to check out books and are constantly adapting to ever-changing technology. I’m looking forward to continuing to build the library as the hub our community needs and building the relationships and partnerships within the community to help ensure the library’s mission is fulfilled for everyone.”
